Groningen 1,5 day in the spotlight at 90 Meeting Professionals!
MPI Crossing Borders 2023 #Groningen edition was a great success! Proud and happy that we organized this day together with MPI Netherlands and 20 Groningen partners! A day with a varied, special and inspiring program.
After an extensive welcome drink on Monday evening, February 6, offered by Best Western Hotel Groningen Centre with the first 45 participants and a wonderful overnight stay in one of the beautiful hotels, we started on Tuesday morning, February 7, with a spectacular opening at Martiniplaza. After the opening by Tim Rosman and Wouter Olland, Wilem de Kok updated the 90 participants about Groningen Conventions. Followed by an exceptionally inspiring keynote by Kevin Weijers. An impressive keynote about experimentation and crossing boundaries. Crossing Borders has begun!
In a 'Lunch Carousel' we visited the impressive Rabo Studio of the Forum, we enjoyed the historic Feithhuis, the modern and vibrant The Market Hotel and everyone is impressed when the special organ of the Martinikerk plays. A beautiful setting where hundreds of guests can have lunch, dinner and conferences. A co-ordinated menu of fully vegetarian small dishes that inspire, taste great and are unique. Partly thanks to the good catering provided by Vermaat. The sublime dishes provided the second 'WOW' moment of the day during lunch.
In the afternoon there was a choice of 2 special learning journeys led by moderators Bertine Müller and Myrthe Meurders. 'The Future of Energy' at EnTranCe and 'The Future of Health' at Royal Avebe, where the participants learned in an innovative way about working towards a better world. In addition, Coöperatie De Graanrepubliek took participants on a special tasting with all kinds of innovative applications of Dutch ancient grain.
The day ended at DOT. Not just any location; in addition to being a top conference and event location, the only full-dome 3D dome theater in the Netherlands, where Edwin Valentijn, Professor of astronomical Information technology, concluded with a fascinating story and a space journey in 3D. Closing with an extensive drink provided by the hospitable team of DOT! What a great day.
